You find out mallows mom has a terminal disease(probably cancer). Shes catches the bounsweet for mallow so she wont be alone when shes gone. Mallow, being a child, doesnt understand whats happening and gets angry at her mom for constantly apologizing that shes in the hospital. Mallow says "i hate you" to her mom and runs off, only for her mom to pass away soon after, making that the last thing she ever said to her. The episode is about mallow just wanting to she her mom again one last time so she can apologize and tell her she loves her.
Shit got way too real for a pokemon episode, and i definetly wasnt ready for the feels.
