LGPE is marginally better than FRLG because it bases most of the locales off of HGSS, but in many ways it makes even worse mistakes. Red and Blue might not hold up by today's standards but they are objectively the better experience because of all the shit they did to butcher FRLG and LGPE in the name of keeping it "faithful" when it in fact did the opposite.
