>>51423420Yeah but, if they're reacting to your team, that's just another missed opportunity. We already know off the Battle Towers in the past that the game reads your team's composition and moveset, why not have the gym leaders forgo having a set type and tera into whatever deals with your team the best? Tera-ing from Rock to Grass might help deal with a water weakness but Rock has a very hefty number of weaknesses itself. I just think it'd be better if gym leaders had well rounded teams designed to terastallize into whatever they need to to handle the player character rather than a set type they shift into only when using a specific Pokemon.
>>51423484That's not really what I'm saying but sure, I think we should drop the whole type matchup tutorial that gym leaders do and lean more into using them to show off different possible teams in Pokemon, like instead of the grass gym leader only running Grass Pokemon, he actually runs a Grassy Terrain team and his ace spams Grassy Glide, and instead of some grass shitmons, he as Pokemon there to enable his Grass ace to do what it does best. Or a trick room gym leader, or a gym leader with eviolite stall teams, or some shit. Raihan was cool in SWSH because he wasn't just lmao dragons, he was a sand team fight in doubles. Why only him? Gyms can be so much more than extremely basic checks to whether or not you got the water type outside the fire gym.
