Like, sure, Hop so far seems to be really friendly, but considering his brother is the champion and may well be some kind of fraud could drastically change up his trajectory and arc.
I could actually see him getting delusional and maybe angry at the player for them trying to tell him the truth about his brother.
Then there's Marnie who sounds like she could go in all kinds of directions with the fact that Team Yell are her fans causing shit in the League, likely to try and get her a better position. Whether she's a bitch that embraces that or a serious competitor that denies them, there's some good potential for a personal story detached from the player.
And then there's Bede who we know nothing about yet besides the fact that Rose endorsed him. Considering Rose endorsed Leon as well, Bede could have some stuff about having these big shoes to fill, but in a different way than Hop does. They could even play off each other a bit.
There's a lot of room for them to do something interesting with at least ONE of the three rivals this time since the League is such an integrated part of the plot.
