That's exactly it, no one should be able to compete against the champions, at least not like this. I find the concept of the PWC dumb as shit which is the root cause of my problems. It's like as if, I don't know, the locals of the ass ends of the planet, like Possom Trot Kentucky, was expected to go against the New York Knix in sports or something. It's utterly retarded and should be way out of anyone's league. I didn't expect anything, from the start it already felt like it was a filler show fresh out of ideas that only managed to do disrespect to all its side characters as well as their main character for over twenty years.
As far as the games go you're essentially a 10 y.o force-of-nature demigod of whom even fate bends to, the anime at least had a loose respect for terms such as humbleness and constraint.
