With sunshine cup I got 13 wins in a row with non-meta team thanks to making my perfect GL pvp iv arcanine a surprise mixed attacker and having a shadow blazi with counter. Whenever anyone switches to a fire type to take care of my lead Steelix they pretty much auto-lose, and that happens all the time.
I think each cup has strategies that actually work. I’d still prefer less randomness, but strategy *does* improve your performance.
Rewards can also make it worth it. Got this cutie yesterday as 3/5 prize
