Finished Red main story. Now I want to do Cerulean Cave and complete the parts of the Pokedex I can before starting Yellow to get the ones I can't get before using gen 2 to get the version exclusives. Team was:
>Venusaur: main MVP early on but became increasingly more and more vulnerable to threats as we got closer to the end. Hardly used him on any E4 battles. Razor Lead came in clutch and was really helpful during the hunt for the legendary birds.
>Nidoking: The opposite case, he was hard at the beginning to catch up with the others but by the time he learnt thrash and thunderbolt he became indispensable. The main MVP of the latter half and was a great help during the seafaring we did and the legendary birds
>Hypno: His psychic came in handy and his hypnosis move is obviously great for helping captures. Worked as a duo with Nidoking often during difficult captures or higher levels opponents to apply sleep or finish off with dream eater
>Vaporeon: Caught as a Eevee and we managed to apply ice beam and bubblebeam (later replaced by surf), a great help throughout. This was my first time using one
>Arcanine: Became really great to use towards the end once it get that extra boost from learning flamethrower and then evolving
>Dodrio: Replaced my Fearow for it on a whim and thought I might have regretted it, but I was shocked that it quickly caught up in exp growth to the point it was already keeping pace from solely using it during the Pokemon Tower. Drill Peck and its high speed meant it landed lots of critical hits that especially came in clutch during tight spots and the elite 4
Other members included Raichu and Fearow. I was happy with how this team turned out. They had great synergy with one another, Nidoking and Hypno especially.
