He's grown on me a ton. I hated him because he was just a pile of rocks. Now I fully imagine the red colored ones as shiny crystals that black/white and anything since has just never made appropriately look like crystals. Plus I love imagining a giant rock monster fighting. One of the only mons that would look great in some high budget graphics to make the crystals shine/translucent and make the rocks have details.
Also Escavaliet grew on me for it'd awesome design and Galvantula somewhat just because of it's electric web move.
