I'm not joking, and you can google for it now, but there's a bug affecting accounts seemingly at random caused by the moment you input your birthday, which causes some accounts to get marked as "minors" (and thus eliminating social features) for no reason whatsoever.
Support already answered reports saying there's no way they can change it on their side and the only fix for now is making another account.
I'm sorry.
