All the cancer on this board gave me an idea for a new mechanic. All Pokemon would be divided in three major categories (this mechanic does not replace the type chart): Organic, Nonorganic, and Neither(reserved for legendaries).
Organic Pokemon are those whose mass is primarily animal and plant cells. Inorganic would be Steel, Rock, some of the ground types, ghosts who are ephemeral gas, Pokemon based on inanimate objects, etc.
Organic Pokemon would take an extra 20% damage from Poison type attacks, with a small chance of getting the Toxic status effect. Ice type attacks would go 10% more damage and have a 20% chance to lower speed by one stage.
Inorganic Pokemon would take 20% less damage from poison and ice attacks, if they are not already immune and would never suffer the indirect side effects.
