>>32264518Seeing the mindless masses of /vp/ go about hating every little irrelevant thing has given me much more appreciation of Pokemon. There were instances where something I used to dislike has become a favorite of mine as I played its defense just for the fun of it. Pokemon like Charizard, games like SM and even XY to some extant. I have, at one point or another, played defense for anything I come across simply to kill some time, and that sometimes results in me having a greater appreciation of whatever I was defending as I try to highlight all the positives.
That is not to say it's all been just positive, though. There are things I used to like that I've come to hate due to /vp/. Amidst those arguments, there are times when the one I'm arguing just makes better points and convinces me that the negative of a game outweigh the positives. For example, my previously second favorite game in the series, BW, is one I do not like anymore. I liked it mostly for the story, and having the ridiculous number of flaws with it laid out before me, it significantly made my replay of the game worse. Things I had previously suspended my disbelief to are now much more apparent. There's also things I have come to not care about due to overexposure on /vp/. Such as the Alolan starters or female protagonist of BW and SM.
So I'm not sure what to make of this. I think overall, I've gained more appreciation for the series than I've lost.
