I actually liked Popmaid from the beginning, but I admittedly am already a sucker for elegant and majestic designs like Gardevoir, Lilligant, Milotic... and not in a waifu kinda way. I just like the idea of a Pokemon being majestic as fuck and still being able to lay the beat-down. I can see why people might not like it.
Luchalitten was honestly a disappointment at first considering I was probably going to choose Litten as my starter pick. I have, however, grown to like Luchalitten over time, maybe somewhat ironically. Having a dudebro wrestler Pokemon could be funny and the thought of Luchalitten fighting UB-Absorption in a wrestling match for the fate of the world is campy af and I love that.
It depends on their animations, art, etc for me to decide.
