Pokemon's core gameplay (singnle-player wise) is changed to work better in the campaign, but at the cost of losing its meta. Different graphics. Sprites and animated cutscenes might get used, like in Devil Survivor 2 for the 3DS. Your protagonist has dialogue choices. Human characters look less moe, for lack of a better way to describe the artstyle since Gen V, but there are more interactions with them, which might lead people to think it's more waifuey. Despite still being marketed towards kids, Calem/Serena's young adult age is used as the standard for protagonists instead of 11-12 year olds like Red, Brendan and Mizuki. Designs might be like that SMT spinoff game where everything's more cutesy than usual. Plot revolves way too much around humans, and Pokemon are sidelined as something mostly gameplay-related.
SMT is dead. Without Pokemon's brand recognition, GF can't continue to do their usual bullshit practices.
