I took a little break but I'm back for more Crystal, hope you didn't miss me too much.
Last time I made it to Goldenrod and got a shiny Smoochum from the odd egg. Didn't use the bug catching contest, because national park is the only area to catch Nidoran.
I thought Adamantine as a female rock type had me covered for Whitney, but then her Clefairy metronomed a water gun and nearly killed Onix on turn 2 or so. Sent out Gastly to bait out rollout, hoping Maneater could take those. Turns out she couldn't so that left me with a high powered rollout to deal with. Hoped to put it to sleep with Cyanide, but he missed and bit the dust as well. Thankfully she missed next turn so Tiny the Teddiursa was able to kill it.
This was a perfect opportunity to add Beguile shiny Smoochum to the team at least, which is a really cool addition to the team. Added Slowpoke too because I need a water type soon anyway.
Unfortunately we lost another member soon after. I completely forgot the kimono girls want to fight you right away in Crystal, so I talked to one without thinking and ended up in a fight agaisnt Espeon I wasn't prepared for and it cost me Tiny. Absolutely seething about that, I really wanted an Ursaring.
The Gastly line lacking levitate made Morty easy prey for Adamantine's newly learnt Dig. Rock types really carry early Johto. Now I'm gonna hunt for evolution items.
