I hadn't thought of this before, but if you're familiar with the Cleveland mall (the shitty one), there's a Kmart there. They're always dead and don't really have much of anything, but it seems like the place that /might/ sell it to you early.
The Kmart that sold me Mystery Dungeon early all those years ago was in Athens, though.
