But as an adult, and over 600 some Pokemon later, it's not the best thing ever. There's certainly been better designs since. I do get why people get annoyed by it. Genwunners fawn over it. It gets most special treatment than Pikachu. I honestly get bothered by Mewtwo for the exact same reasons.
That being said, the anti-Charizard people are just as fucking annoying. Love people who call it fat but then praise Blastoise. People call the design uninspired, but it's literally one of the first Pokemon ever designed. A lot Gen 1 was that way. Doesn't mean it's badly designed. I do think plenty of people get so angry about it just because it is popular and try to go out of their way to hate it.
