>>13889440It's a bit complicated. Of the original anime cast, only Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi are still around. Everybody else (besides Himespetchi who returned to her home planet later on) got left behind when the main trio moved to Dream Town. The second series' protagonists - Yumemitchi and Kiraitchi - just recently took a boat to Melody Town to fulfill their dream of becoming idols or something. All the other characters introduced in that series stayed around, most notably Pianitchi (+ her mom, Cafe Mama) and Coffretchi and their marketable smartpad instrument doohickey and marketable fake makeup kit. The new protagonists are Miraitchi and Clulutchi, who come from the future to rescue the dream baku or something with the power of merch and fashion.
I was a bit surprised they didn't ditch the Dream Town setting and all its associated characters immediately and throw Mametchi and co. into future land.
