I've yet to know/meet a girl who has knowledge of DPP or newer gens, although I did see a girl walking around campus with a Tepig/Snivy/Oshawott/Pikachu waterbottle thing. Outside of that, I saw one girl out in the main courtyard with a Pikachu hat so that was something. Not bad looking either.
In a poll of a few random girls at our campus that a buddy of mine asked (he was playing Black) in his class, he found one had no idea of anything outside of Pikachu despite telling him "OMG I LUV POKEMON!", one named off Charmander and Squirtle (couldn't remember the third) and another named off Pichu, Charmander and Squirtle. Apparently all girls hate Balbaseer. It should be noted that these girls were not fans, but just generally had a small idea of the series.
Surprisingly out of the ones that I've encountered that like Pokemon, none have been landwhales which I think is incredible.
