I'm the guy who asked how to start making hack roms. So, I started with the map of the first town. My idea is to make something as simple as possible for me and my friends to enjoy. I want to make a region inspired by the island where I live.
I'm using firered as base. I just want to make a region from scratch, leaving the 386 pokémon already in game, changing of course trainer's pokémon etc. I'm posting what I've done for critique, it's my first map ever. I'm pretty paranoid about making something that won't worl, in fact I still don't understand how connections work between maps and stuff.
To the north I want to put a roadblock, after 8 badges you can walk there and access another route, city and pokemon league. To the east, just a small sea route leading nowhere. To the south, the journey begins. The region should have a triangular shape and the adventure is linear, so as little backtracking as possible.
