think about it: you're mixing together superficial, self-conscious, lonely, impressionable, awkward, and hypocritical people together in one space, who discovered the easy way to both create a personality and feel superior to those that make them inferior. They NEED to feel special about themselves, and do so by making one specific facet of their lives their entire world.
It's just sad
