I found this little guy a few days ago, he's the first shone I've ever successfully bred after I gave up on my many previous hunts. Not my first choice of shiny, but Rowlet was picked randomly from a list of colors I liked. I also randomly hatched an Eevee while adding to my Dex, named him Fate and evolved him into Umbreon.
I'm now hunting a female Salandit. I've been using the SOS method, but I have several gripes with it and want to know if breeding would be better. As far as I remember, the odds of finding a shiny are higher when breeding (1/521 compared to 1/683 through 70-255 SOS chain), I can guarantee the correct nature, and I can do other things if I get bored. On the other hand, I can't break an SOS chain until 255, constant PP management is tedious as fuck, and I'd probably tear my hair out if I hit the jackpot only to roll a bad nature. Thoughts?
