I remember rabid Game Freak apologists screaming "NOSTALGIAFAG" and shoving Muk and Exeggute in my face whenever I "dared" to speak out about how shitty Unova designs were. I'd use the same arguments about stylistic change you see here every day and they'd fall on deaf ears.
However, now it's "okay" to hate them since the apologists have moved on to defend filth like ORAS, and ironically, LGPE.
