I just realized that the restricted Pokédex is going to apply to Smogon as well, basically eternal pre bank OU. I really wonder how it is going to play out, assuming everything from GO and all crossgen evos(which knowing Game Freak isn't gonna be exactly obvious) are avaiable in postgame it shouldn't be too bad because that's still everything up until gen III, possibly IV, plus Sylveon and Alola forms, so a bigger selection of Steel types and in general not such a pisspoor roster, but it would still miss half the pokedex and important moves from past gens, and if Mega Evolutions and Z moves are going to be retained is also anyone's guess.
