>>51715935I was originally gonna respond to your point about Pheromosa, but I might as well make the points about why all current bug-type attackers have strings attached:
>Shadow Pinsir/Shadow Scizor: The most consistent of all the bug-type raiders, but they, along with their normal forms and stuff like Escavalier and Durant, lack the DPS to justify their usage, especially for the 600k stardust to get them to lvl. 50. Only worth it if you really like the shadow variants and there either rain, a mega bug on your side, or they resist the raid boss's attacks.>Mega Scizor: While you could argue it's worse than Shadow Pinsir and Shadow Scizor, it has only slightly less DPS for slightly more TDO, it gives your friends a bug and steel mega boost, and it costs a lot less to power up, especially if purified or lucky. Solid pick, but not goof enough for non-shitters.>Pheromosa: Phenomenal DPS, however it's too dang frail. Not only are its defenses way under the curve, but its fighting-typing makes it useless against any psychic-types you could use it against. That, and since most good grass-type raid bosses have a type that resists bug/combo for a 4x weakness to something else (See: Mega Abo and Mega Sceptile), it will only ever be good against dark-types, and ONLY if the boss is running a dark-type or fighting-type charge move. Would also appreciate rain or mega boost.>Mega Beedrill: This hornet has a much better DPS to bulk ratio compared to Pheromosa and actually compares pretty favorably to Shadow Yanmega. The only differences is that it still has a typing weak to psychic, plus you can only use one mega at a time, and a frail mega isn't always the most pragmatic mega.Shadow Yanmega: It lacks most of the other bugs' downsides and carries with it a double-resistance to fighting and a triple-resistance to ground (just in case that ever becomes relevant), yet still comes with a monstrous DPS.
