Alain is the best character. Before he even meets Ash, he gets his own specials making him his own character and putting him on protagonist level. There's also the deep philosophical implications and moral dilemmas he goes through from working with Lysandre and hanging out with little girls. He's also NOT a waifu so his fans are indeed sincere. Finally, there's the utter mindbreak he caused the Pokemon fanbase proving that you truly have to be enlightened and dare I say, based to like such a chad.

They had to get rid of him early because there's no way they could justify Ash beating him. Plus Leon has been the Monarch for awhile. He probably has a hacked Charizard like Ash's hacked Pikachu. I am calling foul play.
