>>49231170Nah, that's cope. LA legitimately does not compare to any of it's contemporaries on the same console. (MH Stories, BOTW, SMT5, Xenoblade Definitive & 2.) There are numerous big open map RPGs that exist on the Switch while still being more visually impressive on a technical level. LA is more visually comparable to the PokePark games, which released 2 generations ago on a console was already nothing more than an overclocked GameCube.
The reason why it looks the way it does is because of Japanese stubbornness and Gamefreak's ineptitude when it comes to 3D. They legitimately have no idea what they're doing and seem averse to hiring out people who do, hence the many interviews framing Gamefreaks as a company as if they are a carousel of new hires that constantly rotate and bleed talent as they learn the industry there and move on to bigger projects. If Gamefreaks was willing to do whatever it took to make the game as good as it can be, we would have heard about Monolith Soft assisting with development by now. As it stands, GF is flying by the seat of their pants and it shows with every project they undertake.
And as I said, I'm still buying it because despite all that it STILL looks like a better game than SWSH.
