X and Y were much more handholdy than any other main game, especially with the new Experience Share. I know Pokémon games are never exceedingly difficult, but X and Y were pretty much on the level of babby's first vidya. ORAS are easier than RSE because of more healing opportunities and DexNav + Quickballs making it easy to recatch any Pokémon, but Hoenn still has longer routes and more items to collect than Kalos.
