Superstar Saga was my favorite, and every game after that seems like so much less.
Also, it's always bothered me that you can never actually finish the games. As soon as you beat the final boss, you see a cutscene, the credits, and resume your game with the boss still undefeated. It may seem like a small thing to complain about, but it's always made me feel as if my progress will always be incomplete.
You will never walk around the Mushroom Kingdom in peace once more, this also means there is zero actual postgame.
