I was always thought it was a pretty cool mon when I was a kid because it was a grass type that didn't take SE damage from fire but never had it in the running for favorite until I went through the trouble of getting it in Prism and was rewarded with it soloing the Gas gym. He's also pretty great in gen 3 playthroughs too.
