Your game is factually shit and your enjoyment of it comes down to the fact that you yourself have dogshit taste.
The only thing gen 5 brought to the table was shit designs, linear as fuck regions (which have now stuck) and an overemphasis on shit tier story which nobody gives a fuck about in a Pokemon game.
All I need in a Pokemon game is a quality dex of Pokemon to try out, some barebone story about why I am on my journey and a solid region to explore. Add in at least some level of challenge and it's perfect.
The reason why gen 5 is irredeemably shit is because it added a whole slew of vomit inducing, deviant art looking toddler-tier designs that we'll never get rid of clogging up the games.
