Personally
>lgpegeneric and uninspired
>swshI don't like the minor artstyle changes they made, xy/oras/sm looked better to me. Color choices are weird at times and a lot of Galar just looks ugly to me regardless of graphical quality. resolution also went low in towns and the wild areas
>bdspcan look nice at times but I hate the chibi style. overall better and worse than lgpe in different areas
>plaI actually really like how this looks, the soft colors and shading are very comfy. The resolution also stays consistently high especially in handheld and performance is solid. It can be barren in some areas though and some things look bad from a distance. Overall it's not very ambitious but is reasonably competent and does a good job establishing atmosphere.
>svOn an emulator or with a massive overclock this can look very nice, mostly in towns. I like the new art style and it feels like a logical progression from spinoffs like Battle Revolution and New Snap. The materials they use, such as cloth, metal, fur, etc, can look very nice at times. Unfortunately on stock hardware the framerate is constantly tanking and so is the resolution. There are tons of compromises that hurt the experience like low fps animations and extremely low shadow draw distance. The game is also incredibly buggy, both graphically and otherwise. Outside of towns the terrain is also pretty featureless and is a step down from PLA.
Overall I'd say my favorite is PLA. I like SV at times but there are too many things that ruin the experience and the only way to get anything approaching reasonable performance or image quality is to overclock or emulate. PLA, although it uses lower quality assets than SV, is a more stable and polished experience. As for SWSH, BDSP, and LGPE, they're technically unambitious, but more importantly their chosen artstyles just didn't click with me. I prefer the graphics of Gen 6 and 7 to any of these three.
