Seriously, it's strange that not even a Pokemon game made by China uses its own country as a reference, I mean Unite, this was made by a Chinese multicorporate in association with TPC and yet they preferred to create a group of artificial islands and the only Chinese element left is its professor who in its original language is called Dr Lin.
I can only imagine 2 things, that they are actually working in an exclusive sales region for China or that even Chinese businessmen agree that it would be a disaster for international sales and prefer to avoid it.
