ORAS are very disappointing remakes however, but as you said, are definitely good games, right below the best even, due to all the features it offered.
I will say that its in-game artstyle is mostly horrible though. Making a 1:1 map of Hoenn's tileset into 3D was a mistake, and more of XY's map designers should have came to make Hoenn look less blocky.
