>>26982722Again, it's because I think it's nonconstructive. I'm the kind of person who's harsh when critiquing other's performance, specifically if I think they have potential. It's not that I'm saying kindness needs to be earned in general outside of that. And fakemon threads, or rather Drawthreads in general, are very circlejerk-esque. You can tell because the attitudes therein are very unlike those of 4chan at large, regardless of the board they crop up on; People will never say something is shit, even if it's easy to tell that the "critic" themself thinks it's awful and looks down on the artist, which is how a lot of "artists" I knew never ended up getting better. That being said, it's not that I think gentle critiques are somehow inherently bad, it just doesn't sit well with me, personally. This is a thread about cringe, which is an emotion, not a deduction, and so regardless of how much I know it's just the alternative rather than an outright evil, it won't stop my natural, gut reaction from occurring.
