>>44178499Almost all of 'em involve cheating in some capacity and are old as shit (think 2012-2016) but I'll list 'em...
>Lap Frog KidA TCG competitor running an incredibly complex deck was caught hiding a card that was supposed to be in his discard pile in his lap and was DQ'd and later given a lifetime ban for it.
>the Spanish shit-slinging contestThe term is something of an exaggeration but the events are true. A team of Spanish VGC competitors attending a Regional tournament in the UK left actual human shit in hotel hallway and, since this little debacle pissed off the hotel staff and several guests, were asked to leave. While one of the poo-flingers did win the event he was later stripped of the title and given a ban.
>anything involving Ray RizzoIt's no longer the case now thanks to the amount of Pokeball types available in SWSH and recent changes to Pokeball inheritance but Rizzo ran certain Pokemon/Pokeball combos that were obviously hacked. The most notable examples include a Dream Ball Aegislash and another one involving either Ludicolo or Politoed.
>the Nugget Bridge IRC leaksThis one ties into the Rizzo bullshit but the general gist is that an IRC chat that included TPCi-sanctioned VGC judges was leaked and that a lot of info involving how judges make their decisions on enforcing tournament rules was leaked to the public. One of the more disturbing ones involves judges giving veteran players (like Rizzo) serious leeway when it comes to things that pass the games automatic hack checks but wouldn't pass one that also involves judges knowing about game mechanics like breeding. Remember that Dream Ball Aegislash? If a newbie VGC competitor entered a tournament with one they'd get DQ'd on the spot.
The Gino/Mees fiasco MIGHT cause me to hit the character limit so I'll list that one separately.
