God shut the fuck up. Gen 5 idle poses are more animated because it's all they have. Fully animated models look retarded gyrating in place. The Gen 1-4 sprites were all recycled and tweened, how is that more effort than modeling and fully animating 600+ pokemon?

Braixen kept the stick in its tail making it look like a broomstick which fits the theme instead of pulling it out of nowhere like Delphox does. It makes no sense to discard a concept people liked like this.

It's better.

Delphox didn't even keep the matchstick wand gimmick. It has nothing going for it. Delphox was clearly rushed out the door, not expanding on the line's features at all and having nothing interesting or aesthetic about its design.

Everything just wildly deviates when they start evolving.

Frogadier lseems like it transitioned well from Froakie. Greninja is more than alright, scarf tongue is brilliant.

Fennekin to Braixen is straight up what the fuck just happened. The jump from Braixen to Delphox looks passable though.

Chespin evolutions are just plain suffering. Quiladin is a mess, and the jump to Chesnaught makes no sense.

The models have actual animations you stupid fuck, they're not just stuck there in a static pose. They don't need to compensate for a lack of movement with an overly dynamic stance.

people dislike the design because it looks like fucking dogshit. it's hey arnold's head on a traffic cone. you can tell the design was completely phoned in since the head stays the same and just gets fennekin's hair back, and the tail even loses its orange mark.

it also loses the whole matchstick wand thing where it lights it by pulling it from its tail. now it just lazily takes it from its side. a logical progression from braixen would be a staff/witch's broom with a flame instead of bristles. instead it "just gets taller" and an uglier outfit.

Yes, when the pokemon only has one pose or idle animation they have to make it look dynamic. XY doesn't rely on that because it has actual dynamic battle animations.

I'm not saying the idle animations couldn't be better, but actual battle animations are infinitely better than a static sprite.

You watch battles for the animation, moves interacting with shit, and the competition. Contests aren't any different. Both are choreographed by the animators to be an interesting display of moves. One is just more lighthearted, until we get to the actual contests.

All we saw was practice and an exhibition by Elle, which obviously isn't supposed to show her best moves or show up the contestants. I just don't understand this "boring" sentiment.
