I know this screams autism, but hear me out.
It takes two hours at the most to get a pokemon with six IVs in every stat, far more than you actually need to be competitive. Some of us actually like the feeling of breeding, raising, and training our battle companions that we'll be using for years to come. If you want to skip that, if it's too tedious to you (which is perfectly understandable), you have options such as pokegen and showdown, allowing you to get right to the battle without game freak taking away something that means a lot to some players.
If you plan on playing the game for a while, it should be no issue to breed pokemon, it's just a minor timesink compared to the return you get from using that pokemon. If you only want to be for a little while, then why not just pokegen or showdown anyway to maximize your time battling?
Don't take this away from me, /vp/
