Poison type isn't just weak because it isn't offensive enough, it's weak because the Pokemon in the type are usually extremely weak (Crobat being one of like 4 poison types to break 500 BST), meanwhile Dragon being strong not because of the type, but because many of the Pokemon in the type break that 500 BST barrier and are given excellent abilities, movesets, and stat distributions.
Dragonite? It was shit until it got a LEGENDARY'S SIGNATURE ABILITY.
Kingdra? Pretty trashy, only used in niche set ups and picked up during the weather wars because of muh swift swim
Salamence? Easily revenge killed, and only needed a slight slap on the wrist to drop out of OU.
Hydreigon? Great coverge and stat spread, balanced by its 4 weaknesses (more than any other dragon).
Haxorus? Relatively slow at 97 base speed. Kept in check by the 30% of Pokemon with a higher BST and access to Ice Beam/Dragon moves
Only Garchomp stands out as overtly broken, and that's because it has the BST of a legendary, with great spread making it bulky and breaking the 101 speed barrier, allowing it to outspeed many threats, and then kill them with a monstrous attack stat. The only thing stopping it from being outright broken is the lack of Dragon Dance. Hell, it was so powerful that it stayed in OU, even after the introduction of fairy type, and remains one of Xerneas' top counters in ubers.
Buff ice and poison realistically, and nerf Garchomp. There, no need for Fairy type
