>>26816112Any significant features within the frog itself to characterize its ability, strength, build, or type are muddled together in a heterogeneous and immiscible blend of shapes, lines, definitions, colors, and areas of depth.
The "artist" who designed the Pokemon prevented any essential elements from having its attention drawn due to the addition of, in ascending order:
a.) Elements that divert attention towards themselves without a unity of focus, each competing for attention rather than drawing the viewer's attention to the most significant and aesthetically desirable traits
b.) Improperly mixing said insignificant elements with those that are, so that any elements that are meant to be significant can no longer be determined even if other parts are completely isolated from it
c.) Having its general focus attempt to reach out to as large an audience as possible, thus resulting in the overall blurry impact and confuted design that can only appeal to those who either have a very poor instinct of taste and beauty, or those (probably most of the people on this board, in fact) who have it impart their own meaning, message, and beauty to it- to ignore the traits unessential to them and try and reorder the design in their mind's eye- a job specifically intended for the lead designer, not the mediocre and petty taste of the mob of the fanbase itself.
And thus is formed that large concourse of fans and players, casual and competitive alike, who set up what they like and dislike as the standard of taste. It is in vain that any tasteful Pokemon designer deplore the existence of this part of their audience. It is they themselves who are responsible for its existence. It is the anarchy in their own ranks that has infected the bravest of their followers. The taste of the masses, endowed with self-confidence in this way, is now a potent force in Pokemon, and those so-called designers actually conform and submit to this mob-rule.
