>>53667420>Haven't played anything past X/Y; anything you'd recommend between S/M, US/UM, and SSh?either ORAS or USUM
ORAS if you want to play Hoenn again
USUM if you want a new region
ORAS gets a bad rep for not including a lot of emerald content but it does have some of it's own niches like day/night cycle and e4 that use different teams when you rematch them. if you ask me, i think they're at least decent. a few of the things on the list i posted earlier can apply to USUM like cutscenes (i personally never had a problem with this however) but they're overall much better games than SV. it's worth noting that USUM actually gives NPC trainers high IVs and EVs on their pokemon, meanwhile in SV no such trainers exist with the exception of I think one. if you like living dex, ORAS and USUM allow you to catch every pokemon that existed at the time just like the games before it. you can't do this in the switch games because GF was too lazy to copy and paste models into each game. bank i think got shut down which would make getting transfer mons harder but i heard that you could catch every gen 1-6 between XY and ORAS so if you have two 3DSs and XY you could do that if you wanted to do full dex in ORAS or XY, not sure about USUM however. a common complaint is that the EXP share makes the game too easy. this is hotly debated but on the bright side you can at least turn the EXP share off in USUM and ORAS if you feel like the game gets to easy, unlike the switch games which don't have the option to turn them off. none of the other 3D games are worth wasting time with
