>>53791450Unfortunately for Winston, things didn't get much better from there.
After chasing a bunch of LARPers through the forest because of Mavis' own distaste for them, the poor trainer was dragged all the way to Castelia to find them- only for everyone to get lost within a few hours and unable to find their way either in or out of the city.
A ground-type couple offered to help- a Trapinch and a Drilbur respectively- saying that they could guide the group to Nimbasa, through a somewhat treacherous desert, with little trouble.
But Mavis, ever the stubborn mon, refused their help and said she wouldn't accept help from a pair of mon half her size. So the pair left, with the Drilbur in particular turning back to chastise the Deino for her attitude, leaving the trio all alone with nowhere to go.
And that's when Winston snapped.
The trainer grabbed his mon by the ear and forced her to LISTEN. Listen, he said, as he reminded her of exactly why he'd said everything he had before Pinwheel Forest.
The boy dragged his mon by the hair to a dark alley and explained what was going to happen. He realized that he was somehow important to Mavis, and that he had power over her in that way.
A long rant soon followed. For Aurora, it was like being trapped back in the Forest where she heard the constant shouts and cries of Pokémon much stronger than her that she'd never be able to see or silence. All she could do was watch as Winston rambled. As he chewed Mavis out for refusing to accommodate Aurora- to even congratulate her for her victory back in Nacrene. How Mavis had dragged the two of them around like trash and refused to do anything nice for them- to elaborate on why she wanted to bring him through this, or to help Aurora out Pinwheel's bogs when they'd first met her, or why she kept chasing every single person they met away from them.
