The mainline games always have peak OST and characters, even though some people dislike barry or the gen 6 crew or the swsh rivals. They are still really enjoyable even if they aren't my favorite of the series.
Playing a mainline pokemon game always brings back the memories and nostalgia of being with my pokemans and training to be the best. I also think pokemon has a lot of nice wholesome themes in it's games, unlike other jarpigs that have good OSTs or enjoyable worlds.
