I don't think I have the best judgement of it since I've only played non-platinum sinnoh twice before, and the first time was literally babby's first pokemon game ever. And the second time though I was doing a nuzlocke, I wasn't using level limits, item limits, or my type-lock gimmick yet. So it's kind of hard to judge.
I certainly didn't wipe to anybody in my previous run like I did against Maylene in this run. I do feel a bit more scared gym leaders this run that I did before, but again, that could just be the wipe against Maylene talking..
