here is a graph i whipped up to show our type balance. i did only fully evolved pokemon because some types lend themselves better to 3-stage lines and this skews the results in a way which don't really show the prominence of each type. i also left out legendary pokemon because they make it seem like dragon and psychic pokemon are a lot more common in gamefreak games then they really are.
there are a stupid number of psychic and dragon legendaries.15 psychic, almost a third of all fully evolved psychic pokemon. and 10 dragons, almost half of all fully evolved dragons.
it goes without saying that gamefreak has a lot more fairy types so i didn't put a column for them.
