Also its because you can connect them to a beefy computer and not have to pay for another good computer for it to run inside of it. It also means you can upgrade the computer as much as you want. I dont think most ones with a computer built in are very upgradable. It also lets you easily move references and files to your computer faster (since they are already on it) and have alt views on your other monitors at the same time Think about 3D modeling and you can see multiple views on your monitors while you are freely sculpting and turning it on the drawing screen.
