Once in the cave, I immediately stumbled upon the one pokemon I hate the most, a Chansey. I had seen it's evolution as my pokemon on the previous route but killed it. Begrudgingly, I caught it.
But, out of nowhere, we lost a new friend t exploding Poochyena's. He was only a baby but we'll always remember him.
