I would argue being a woman is like a state of mind as well as a state of body. For example, Lots of gay bottoms act like women in terms of behavior, and no gay man takes hormones like hrt, nor has any surgeries or even crossdresses, yet he acts like a woman. Transvestites can do practically the same thing, similarly to traps, with Sissy Hypno porn, and wearing women's clothing without messing up their bodies. Being trans is an identity, a social construct after all.
I should also add that there are some states in the United States that allow people to change their gender to trans, just by having a doctor's note for gender dysphoria. No hormones needed to be trans. You don't even have to cross-dress, you just have to believe you're trans, and a doctor will prescribe your ability to change it if you desired. The reason this is important is because the trans community is now a protected minority group, under the law, due to a Supreme Court ruling that was made not too long ago.
