While I enjoy and replay all games up through BW, my most played are still RB followed by GS. I still enjoy playing Red and Blue, but I do not like playing up through Rock Tunnel. After that, it's fun. Before that, it's railroaded and repetitive. Maybe I should make a hack where Lavender is your starting town, minus annoying horror-fan-meme connotation Cerulean Cape is maybe only breath of fresh air before Rock Tunnel, since you can finally Trainer-Fly glitch there. A few folks ITT used the term 'midgame' but what does that even mean. I like Silph Co only because I know the way: First time I played, Silph Co was definitely a slog. But now it's probably the most interesting dungeon in the game, aside from Pokemon Mansion. Seafoam isn't fun, but it's also optional.
In Johto I dread the Electrode base where Lance helps, I'm actually fine with the Radio Tower. But I understand nobody liking it.
