As this is the first gym, the gym challenge would help new trainers learn their basics. They’d have to guide Pokémon (all low-level species that they would have likely already met on their journey) to a different trainer around the field depending on the Pokémon’s type. If they got the Pokémon’s type wrong, they’d have to battle the gym trainer. They’d probably have to correctly identify the type of four or so Pokémon before finally getting to battle me.
