I'm not talking gimmicks like Dynamax or Terastalizing or whatever, the stuff used to sell entire games these days. This is a thread for discussing nuts and bolts changes to the games, things that would make them just play better for you. In the past this was stuff like Special Defense and the Phys/Spec split, or even Abilities and Natures, which do have big time gameplay ramifications but are more under the hood than big flashy changes you can put in trailer videos.
For instance, I think Friendship should be more important to the gameplay experience, though not necessarily for combat itself. The games always talk about how important Friendship with your Pokemon is, but when it comes down to it that facet of the game just doesn't matter very much. I feel like having it improve Battle performance though is *too* good, so instead high friendship should boost XP gains and recover HP *after* Battles end. During battle it doesn't factor in as much, but you'll definitely notice its impact out of combat because a team of high friendship Pokemon will level faster and go longer without needing to return home.
